Cisco announced approximately 4,000 layoffs beginning May 14, 2026. The cuts target legacy switching, routing, and parts of Talos and Splunk security organizations. Cisco redirected investment toward silicon, optics, security, and AI. The restructuring follows record Q3 revenue of $15.8 billion. Splunk integration has driven consolidation across sales, support, and engineering functions since the March 2024 acquisition.
