Splunk Releases Platform 10.4 with Federated Search for Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Data

Splunk released Splunk Cloud Platform 10.4 and Splunk Enterprise 10.4 on or around May 18, 2026 featuring general availability of Federated Search. The capability allows organizations to query and analyze data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments including Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Azure Data Lake Gen2, and Splunk instances without moving or duplicating data. It includes intelligent routing for cost optimization, AI-driven schema inference, Bring Your Own Catalog support, and unified SPL2 experience. Splunk AI Assistant 2.0 with Agent Mode and enhanced dashboards also launched alongside improvements in security, performance, and data management for both cloud and enterprise versions.
