Red Hat announced customer deployments of OpenShift Virtualization at Telenet Business and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory during Red Hat Summit 2026. Telenet Business consolidated nearly 200 of 1,000 VMs across two Belgian data centers on bare metal using the migration toolkit with 50 GB transfers in minutes and near-zero downtime. Version 4.21 reached general availability on March 27, 2026, adding multi-cluster VM management, OpenShift Lightspeed AI assistance, and cross-cluster live migration. NASA JPL adopted the platform for mission-critical high-performance IT infrastructure with hybrid cloud path to containers. VM deployments on OpenShift grew 417 percent in 2025.
