The U.S. Department of Justice secured a $30 million settlement with PayPal on May 15, 2026 after the company created a discriminatory investment program favoring Black and minority-owned businesses. PayPal must now waive $1 billion in processing fees valued at $30 million for veteran-owned, farming, manufacturing and technology businesses. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the settlement delivers on President Trump’s pledge to root out illegal DEI. The agreement was signed by PayPal CEO Enrique Lores.
