Profound, an 18-month-old startup, raised a $96 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation on February 24, 2026. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Evantic Capital, Saga VC, and South Park Commons, bringing total funding to $155 million. The platform tracks how AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity describe and recommend brands across millions of prompts while helping customers increase visibility in AI-generated answers. Profound serves more than 700 enterprise customers including 10% of the Fortune 500 such as Target, Walmart, Ramp, and Figma. James Cadwallader, co-founder and CEO, stated the company has fewer than 120 employees and recently launched Profound Agents to generate and distribute marketing copy.
