UBX Tanzania Deepens Partnership with ACI Worldwide to Power Tanzania’s Digital Economy

ACI Worldwide and UBX Tanzania Limited extended their nearly two-decade partnership on May 21, 2026. The upgrade positions UBX to nearly double its monthly payment transaction processing capacity over the next five years from the current level of more than 1.3 million transactions. UBX powers core payments infrastructure for 18 banks in Tanzania and supports a network of over 250 ATMs. The platform now allows UBX to serve merchants directly and launch new value-added services such as digital wallets while meeting PCI compliance standards across two certified data centers. Seronga Wangwe, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBX Tanzania Limited, highlighted ACI’s role in enabling expansion and secure always-on experiences.
