Dell Shares New AI Infrastructure Metrics and Starburst GPU-Accelerated SQL Analytics at Dell Technologies World

Dell chairman and CEO Michael Dell presented time-to-token and cost-per-token metrics for evaluating AI infrastructure at Dell Technologies World in Las Vegas on May 18, 2026. Dell announced GPU-accelerated SQL analytics through the Dell Data Analytics Engine powered by Starburst, delivering up to six times faster query performance on NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. Bank of America, which maintains an existing partnership with Starburst, NVIDIA, and Dell, is positioned to adopt the new capability among other enterprise users. The announcements include the Dell AI Ecosystem Program for validated software and pre-built blueprints on Dell hardware. Dell reported more than 5,000 AI Factory customers running production workloads and noted 67% of AI workloads occur outside public clouds.
