Signify and Alpine Greens announced plans on May 20, 2026 to invest $200 million in a greenhouse project in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. The investment will construct advanced greenhouses in Galeana for growing lettuce and other vegetables using high-tech automated systems. Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia confirmed the project will create one of Mexico's most advanced greenhouse facilities. The deal involves Dutch expertise from Signify and Alpine Greens along with potential collaboration from Van der Hoeven. This marks a major expansion of controlled-environment agriculture in the region.
