IO Interactive confirmed upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) will serve as the default upscaler for 007 First Light on PS5 Pro at launch on May 27, 2026. The update delivers reduced shimmer, less flicker and graphic noise, better temporal stability under motion, and sharper reconstruction of hair and fine details. Principal Render Engineer Jon Rocatis stated the team integrated the upgraded PSSR in about a day with no per-scene tuning required.
