Trellix named longtime cybersecurity veteran Joe Chen as chief technology officer on May 20, 2026. Chen will oversee cybersecurity strategy, engineering execution, and research and development operations while strengthening secure product development practices. Chen previously served as vice president of engineering at Broadcom Symantec and Carbon Black and as operating partner at Crosspoint Capital, with experience in machine learning-driven threat detection. CEO Vishal Rao described Chen as a proven technology leader who will simplify complex challenges and drive innovation at scale. The appointment forms part of a broader leadership expansion that includes Chief Product Officer Alex Au Yeung, hired in March 2026.
