Neon announced plans on May 15, 2026, to rebrand its operating systems at the NDC26 event on May 25, 2026. Current versions like dreamOS 4, tabOS 4, and rubyOS 4 will shift to year-based names including dreamOS 27, rubyOS 27, tabOS 27, timeOS 27, spatialOS 27, and mediaOS 27. The update carries codename sapphire and introduces a new frosted glass design that absorbs and scatters light. The rebrand aligns Neon OS naming with Apple's year convention and debuts the design across all new OS 27 versions.
