AWS to retire Amazon Q Developer by April 30 2027 and introduce Kiro agentic platform

AWS announced it will end support for Amazon Q Developer by April 30 2027. New user signups for Amazon Q Developer stopped on May 15 2026. AWS will transition users to Kiro, a new agentic coding platform with advanced workflow automation. Existing Q Developer Pro subscriptions retain access until April 30 2027 while latest models including Opus 4.7 become Kiro-exclusive.
