Scale AI under new CEO Jason Droege reported $1 billion revenue in 2025 after Alexandr Wang departed the company he founded in 2016 to join Meta following the June 2025 $14 billion Meta acquisition of 49 percent stake. The company secured a minimum $450 million annual contract with Meta for five years and expanded partnerships including a $500 million U.S. military deal for Project Thunderforge announced in the prior week plus clients such as Ernst & Young, Mayo Clinic, BP, Allianz, Cisco and Paramount. Scale AI shifted focus from data labeling to enterprise AI apps expected to overtake data labeling revenue in 18 months while planning to hire 500 more employees by year end after laying off 200 in August 2025 and settled a trade secrets lawsuit with rival Mercor in January 2026. Jason Droege stated Scale will very likely become a public company at some point.
