Prefect Rolls Out dbt Orchestrator and 11-Feature Launch Collection

Prefect launched a dbt Orchestrator that breaks dbt projects into model-level tasks with caching, per-node retries, parallel execution, and hashing to avoid re-running unchanged models. The company also released an 11-feature Launch Collection focused on reliability, observability, and user experience including Managed Automations and Assets Explorer. Infrastructure Decorators allow specification of execution backends such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Google Cloud Run, Vertex AI, and Azure Container Instances directly in code. Ramp migrated roughly 200 data flows from Metaflow to Prefect in 90 days and scaled to about 350 flows with 70 contributors. New users move from prototype to production in 30 minutes or less using Infrastructure Decorators.
