Zapier Publishes Updated AI Fluency Rubric for Hiring Standards

Zapier released Version 2 of its AI Fluency Rubric in March 2026 for all new hires. The updated rubric raises the minimum bar for 'Capable' level from basic usage to embedding AI into core workflows with repeatable systems and measurable impact on quality or efficiency. Zapier achieved 97-100% company-wide AI adoption after implementing the framework. Wade Foster, Zapier CEO, and Brandon Sammut, Chief People Officer, oversaw the V2 changes one year after open-sourcing V1 in May 2025.
