Global Payments unveiled an AI-first Genius handheld POS device on May 13, 2026, featuring the first OLED screen in the category and on-device AI for voice order capture in noisy restaurant environments. The ultra-thin device supports 5G, offline mode, EMV/NFC payments, USB-C fast charging, and neural processing for local AI inference. It was previewed at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago from May 16-19, 2026, one year after the initial Genius launch. President of SMB David Rumph stated the device enables servers to spend more time with guests through voice-driven workflows.
