Crusoe Energy Expands Redwood Materials Partnership to 20 MW for Spark Data Centers

Crusoe Energy expanded its strategic partnership with Redwood Materials in March 2026. The expansion scales a microgrid system using repurposed EV batteries from 12 MW/63 MWh at one Crusoe Spark modular data center to deployments across 24 Spark units totaling 20 MW. The original June 2025 microgrid achieved 99.2% operational availability over seven months. Redwood Materials CEO JB Straubel confirmed the 99.2% uptime validated scaling compute capacity nearly sevenfold on the same infrastructure. Crusoe President Cully Cavness stated the expansion enables rapid delivery of high-performance Crusoe Cloud compute via modular data centers.
