Cline Releases Open-Source SDK for AI Coding Agents

Cline team rebuilt the agent harness for its extension and CLI using lessons from developing one of the first coding agents in 2024 and open-sourced the SDK on May 13, 2026. The SDK supports plugins, cron workflows, agent teams, hub-based sessions, and custom tools through npm installation. Developers can now extend the system with modular components like MCP integrations and subagents. Cline CLI achieved 71.9% on Terminal-Bench 2.0 with Claude Opus 4.6, surpassing Claude Code's 65.4% score on May 13, 2026.
