Shift4 Expands Crypto Payments via Lydian Partnership for USDT Acceptance

Shift4 Payments announced a partnership with Lydian on May 14, 2026 to support USDT payments within its Pay with Crypto offering. Merchants receive settlement in local currency while customers pay from major wallets with no added complexity or risk for the merchant side. Carl Grimstad, CEO of Lydian, noted the platform bridges traditional money and digital assets. The update adds Tether to existing crypto options already live for thousands of U.S. merchants.
