Cockroach Labs Adds CockroachDB to IBM Cloud and Supports IBM Power Systems

Cockroach Labs added CockroachDB to the IBM Cloud catalog and extended support to IBM Power processor-based systems including IBM Power Virtual Server on May 15, 2026. The partnership allows enterprises to procure and deploy CockroachDB through existing IBM commercial arrangements such as committed spending agreements without rewriting applications. CockroachDB maintains PostgreSQL compatibility for hybrid database deployments. Cockroach Labs sees the move as removing friction for organizations modernizing databases for distributed applications while preserving investments in IBM infrastructure. IBM Cloud and Cockroach Labs previously collaborated on AWS Financial Services Competency validation.
