FIS and Anthropic Build Financial Crimes AI Agent for AML Investigations

On May 4, 2026 FIS announced partnership with Anthropic to launch Financial Crimes AI Agent that compresses anti-money laundering alert and case investigations from hours to minutes. The agent automatically assembles evidence across bank core systems, evaluates activity against known typologies, and surfaces highest-risk cases. BMO and Amalgamated Bank will be among the first institutions to deploy the agent with broader availability planned for H2 2026. Anthropic’s Applied AI team and forward-deployed engineers are embedded with FIS to co-design the agent and transfer knowledge for future agents.
