Ports of Everett and South Whidbey initiated the Harbor Hopper pilot program on May 11, 2026, establishing the first seasonal passenger ferry link between Everett and Langley, Washington. The service utilizes the 45-passenger Hat Island Ferry vessel for walk-on trips starting June 4, 2026, with sponsorship from Whidbey Telecom and dockside partners Fisherman Jack’s and The Muse Whiskey & Coffee. Previously, travelers depended on longer drives via Deception Pass Bridge or limited ferry routes from Whidbey Island terminals. Harbor Hopper reduces travel time to under 30 minutes for the 10-mile water route. The partnership aims to boost tourism and connectivity in Puget Sound communities through 2026 summer operations.
