Ranger Finance Winds Down Citing Financial Struggles and Drift Incident Impact

Ranger Finance co-founder Barrett announced on May 14, 2026 that the Solana DeFi project will gradually shut down due to unsustainable costs and delayed financing. The decision came after treasury asset liquidation and the Drift exploit that further depleted remaining funds and personal capital. Some employees and suppliers received incomplete compensation. Affected Vault users will receive compensation through recovery tokens distributed by the Drift team. The project had raised $8 million via MetaDAO earlier in 2026 before facing liquidity issues.
