Marqeta flags impact from Block Cash App pricing changes

Marqeta reported that its contract with Block for Cash App and Square cards ends in June 2028. Block reached a new lower pricing tier for its Cash App debit card program in December 2025 and will remain there through 2026. The tier steps down twice the size of other pricing tiers and creates an unfavorable year-over-year comparison for Marqeta’s 2026 results. Marqeta is Block’s largest customer and noted Block moving some new business to an alternate provider.
