Akamai Technologies announced on May 14, 2026 a definitive agreement to acquire LayerX for approximately $205 million. LayerX specializes in browser-based AI usage control and secure enterprise browser technology for generative AI and SaaS applications. The acquisition advances Akamai’s Zero Trust portfolio by adding controls at the point of use without workforce friction. LayerX is expected to contribute approximately $10 million in annual recurring revenue by year end and dilute non-GAAP EPS by $0.12 in fiscal 2026.
