Palo Alto Networks Acquires Portkey for AI Security Integration into Prisma AIRS

Palo Alto Networks announced intent to acquire Portkey on May 1, 2026 with expected close in fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. Portkey acts as pioneer AI gateway already processing trillions of tokens per month and low latency agent communication. Integration places Portkey as AI Gateway for Prisma AIRS enabling runtime inspection, policy enforcement and 99.99 percent uptime via semantic routing and automated failovers. Lee Klarich, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Palo Alto Networks, highlighted control and protection against agentic threats.
