Daytona Beach Boardwalk Extension Advances South from Breakers Park

Daytona Beach approved extension of the boardwalk south from Breakers Park to the north side of Harvey Avenue adding 245 feet of new boardwalk as of May 14, 2026. Seawall repairs are underway with funding from Volusia County's ECHO grant and Daytona Beach's city redevelopment department. Business owners including Louie Louizes of Ocean Ave Gallery and Tom Caffrey of World's Most Famous Brewery expressed skepticism over costs and lack of attractions while Commissioner Ken Strickland noted benefits for tourists and locals.
