Mem0 Releases Updated Token-Efficient Memory Algorithm with Temporal Reasoning

Mem0 released an updated token-efficient memory algorithm with Temporal Reasoning and Memory Decay on May 14, 2026. The update adds temporal metadata extraction for events and Memory Decay for recency-aware ranking within a <7,000-token retrieval budget. It improves temporal reasoning by +3.8 points and multi-session reasoning by +1.5 points at top_200. Mem0 now reaches 92.5 on LoCoMo and 94.4 on LongMemEval. The April algorithm version achieved 91.6 on LoCoMo and 93.4 on LongMemEval.
