GitHub Community Admin updated the announcement on changes to GitHub Copilot Individual Plans on April 23, 2026. New sign-ups for Copilot Pro, Pro+, and Student plans paused with tightened usage limits and Opus models removed from Pro. Starting June 1, 2026, users receive monthly included usage but all model calls consume AI Credits in a postpaid token-based system replacing premium requests. Refunds available until May 20, 2026 for cancellations, with no resubscription option to prior levels.
