Share the canonical public link.
CircleCI made Runner Provisioner, a new Kubernetes controller, available in preview on May 19, 2026. The controller automatically scales CircleCI runner VMs using KubeVirt by polling the CircleCI API for pending and running tasks and adjusting a VirtualMachinePool replica count to match demand. Preview version 0.1.0 includes a Helm chart for installation into any Kubernetes cluster with KubeVirt v1.8+, support for CircleCI Cloud and Server v4+, and setup guidance for GKE, AKS, and EKS including nested-virtualization and tainted-node-pool configurations. Runner Provisioner is invite-only during preview with a request form for approved participants to receive image registry credentials and access to the #runner-provisioner-preview Slack channel.
