GrafTech International Ltd. announced on March 26, 2026 a minimum price increase of $600 to $1,200 per metric ton for graphite electrodes on uncommitted volume effective immediately. The hike applies depending on region and follows three years of significant price declines below levels needed to support investment and reliable supply. CEO Timothy Flanagan stated that after prolonged pricing pressure and rising input costs from geopolitical developments, the reset supports regional production continuity. GrafTech has pursued cost structure improvements and operational efficiency initiatives but requires higher pricing for long-term sustainability.
