Peter Steinberger the Austrian developer behind OpenClaw and OpenAI employee since February posted a screenshot showing $1,305,088.81 spent over 30 days. The bill covered 603 billion tokens across 7.6 million requests generated by roughly 100 Codex instances run by a three-person team. OpenAI covers the cost as employer. Top model was GPT-5.5 dated April 23, 2026 with a single day reaching $19,985.84 and 206,000 requests.
