DigitalOcean launched its AI-Native Cloud platform featuring Inference Router on April 28, 2026 at Deploy 2026 in San Francisco. The platform includes five integrated layers and over 15 new products purpose-built for inference and agentic workloads, with support for a catalog of more than 70 models. DigitalOcean acquired Katanemo Labs in April 2026 to integrate the open-source AI-native proxy Plano into the Inference Router, which uses a 30B Mixture-of-Experts model for task detection. Tyler Gillam joined DigitalOcean in March 2026 as part of the Katanemo Labs acquisition and serves on the inference cloud team alongside Alex Malynovsky, Ram Parthasarathy, Prasad Prabhu, and Nirmal Chander Srinivasan.
