Nouveau Monde Graphite approved the final investment decision for its Phase-2 Matawinie Mine in Quebec on May 15, 2026 with full financing of $644.5 million now in place. The package combines US$335 million in senior project debt from EDC and BIC with the US$309.5 million equity financing closed that day. Commercial production is targeted for 2028 under a 7-year Canadian government offtake agreement. The project positions the mine as the G7's largest graphite mine and advances a fully integrated supply chain from ore to advanced materials in Canada.
