Capital One Brings Hopper Tech In-House and Launches Travel App

Capital One brought Hopper technology in-house and launched a mobile app for its travel platform in March 2026. The bank acquired the underlying software, supplier ties, and around 150 employees who built the Capital One Travel portal. Hopper will no longer power the portal but continues providing fintech products to Capital One Travel. The transition followed reports from November 2025 and a payout agreement in March 2026. Capital One aims to compete more aggressively with American Express and Chase Travel.
