HashiCorp announced native AI agent support in HashiCorp Vault on May 12, 2026. Features include agent registry for oversight, granular identity-based policies with runtime controls and per-request ephemeral authorization via OAuth 2.0 JWT claims for tight scoping. Functionality addresses over-privileged non-human identities in agentic AI environments and is currently in early access for select customers. Public beta is scheduled for the summer 2026 Vault release.
