Zilliz Introduces Vector Lakebase Architecture for AI Data Management

Zilliz launched Vector Lakebase on May 14, 2026, combining vector serving with lake-native storage and elastic compute. The architecture enables AI data to reside in one location without duplication or sync pipelines, differing from prior vector database setups that required fragmented systems for serving and storage. Zilliz Cloud integrates Vector Lakebase to support multiple AI workflows from shared data. Milvus, Zilliz's open-source vector database, reached 44,000 GitHub stars by May 2026.
