Volvo Autonomous Solutions and DSV started commercial autonomous freight operations on May 13, 2026, between Aurora terminals in Dallas and Houston. The initial phase uses Volvo VNL Autonomous trucks with a safety driver present. Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DSV Road, highlighted the depot-to-depot setup to improve safety, mitigate driver shortages, and enable 24/7 operations. The collaboration aims to expand to additional lanes over time.
