Graphite One Inc. announced on May 19, 2026 that it has secured a new industrial site in Conneaut, Ohio from the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad Company subsidiary of Canadian National Railway for its Active Anode Materials facility. The site provides Lake Erie access, rail logistics, power infrastructure and scalability for future expansion after terminating the prior Warren Ohio lease. Phase One production is targeted for Q4 2027 at 10,000 tonnes per year including 4,000 tonnes energy storage, 3,000 tonnes fast-charge and 3,000 tonnes high-density grades. Phase Two graphitization capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year is planned for Q3 2028. CEO Anthony Huston stated the company is executing a disciplined strategy to become a critical North American supplier of advanced battery materials while samples have been sent to six battery and EV firms for qualification testing.
