Buildkite introduced OAuth 2.0 Token Exchange support on May 13, 2026. The feature allows minting short-lived Buildkite API tokens directly from an identity provider using a signed JWT instead of managing long-lived tokens. Organization-level rate limiting protects against abuse while enabling scoped, time-limited access without secret storage or rotation concerns. Buildkite also released official skills for AI coding agents including Claude Code and Cursor on the same platform update cycle.
