Otto Aerospace completed the Preliminary Design Review for the Phantom 3500 in the last week of February 2026 at Jacksonville, Florida. President and CEO Scott Drennan described the review as advancing the laminar-flow aircraft from a promising concept to one the company is preparing to build and fly. The milestone freezes the aerodynamic design and major interfaces, enabling hardware fabrication and assembly. CTO Kyle Heironimus highlighted more than a year of work by the Otto team and partners. The program now moves toward Critical Design Review and first flight of Flight Test Vehicle 1 in 2027.
