Cockroach Labs Announces CockroachDB Availability on IBM Cloud Catalog and IBM Power Systems

Cockroach Labs announced on May 13, 2026 that CockroachDB is now available in the IBM Cloud catalog and supported on IBM Power processor-based server systems. The move expands deployment options for enterprises to procure and deploy CockroachDB within IBM VPC and IBM Power Virtual Server while maintaining consistency with on-premises IBM Power workloads. Allen Terleto, VP Global Partners and Ecosystem at Cockroach Labs, stated that CockroachDB enables unification of globally distributed transactions with AI-driven data access patterns on a single platform. Rohit Badlaney, GM at IBM Cloud, noted the expansion combines Power environment performance with cloud flexibility for data-intensive applications.
