Alon Haimovich Microsoft Israel General Manager will step down on May 31 2026 after an internal investigation into alleged unethical use of Azure by the Ministry of Defense. Microsoft disabled certain Azure services to the Israeli Ministry of Defense in September 2025 following reports of surveillance use. Several managers in Microsoft Israel governance department also left their positions. Haimovich joined Microsoft in 2019 and accelerated cloud and AI adoption in Israel.
