Otto Aerospace moved the Phantom 3500 into detailed design after completing the Preliminary Design Review on May 14, 2026. Scott Drennan, CEO and President, confirmed the aircraft will feature natural laminar flow aerodynamics maintaining laminar flow over 85-90% of wing surfaces. The design targets more than 60% lower fuel burn, 3,500 nm range, 51,000 ft ceiling, and 19,000 lb maximum takeoff weight. Otto Aerospace secured an almost $500 million incentive package from Florida in July 2025 for its Jacksonville manufacturing facility. The company launched the program in September 2025 with a 300-aircraft order from Flexjet.
