MoneyGram Named Anchor Remittance Validator for Stripe-Backed Tempo Blockchain

MoneyGram became the Anchor Remittance Validator for Tempo, the Layer 1 blockchain co-developed by Stripe and Paradigm on May 20, 2026. MoneyGram will validate remittance transactions and integrate stablecoin settlement including with Stripe for global flows. Tempo mainneted in mid-March 2026 after raising $500 million Series A in October 2025 and targets remittances, retail commerce, and corporate treasury. MoneyGram CEO Anthony Soohoo described the partnership as a natural fit given Tempo's focus on real consumer problems. Tempo earlier partnered with DoorDash for stablecoin payments and works with OpenAI, Shopify, Anthropic, and Deutsche Bank.
