Artisanal Spirits Company Reports 20 Percent Membership Growth for SMWS in Early 2026

The Artisanal Spirits Company reported global new membership sales for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society up just over 20 percent in the first four months of 2026 compared to the prior year. Strongest growth occurred in the US and China while SMWS America posted single-digit year-to-date gains with over 30 percent recruitment growth in that region. Total worldwide membership remains just under 40,000 with retention holding steady near 70 percent. ASC CEO highlighted positive momentum from prior strategic focus areas including core SMWS, US market expansion, and Artisan Casks. Mark Hunter stepped back from his role due to health reasons with Paul Skipworth serving as interim chair.
