Cloudflare cut more than 1,100 workers from its 5,483-person staff on May 8, 2026. The layoffs target roles across engineering, HR, finance and marketing while internal AI usage increased 600% in three months. CEO Matthew Prince said employees now run thousands of AI agent sessions daily. Cloudflare co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince told investors the company will redesign every internal process, team and role around AI-assisted operations via its Workers platform.
