Pinecone Launches First Serverless Region in Asia with Singapore Cloud Region

Pinecone announced the launch of its first serverless region in Asia on AWS ap-southeast-1 in Singapore on May 5, 2026. The region provides low-latency performance and local data residency for Southeast Asia, Australia, and Asia-Pacific organizations. The announcement coincided with Nexus knowledge engine, KnowQL query language, Marketplace with more than 90 applications, Builder tier at $20 per month, native full-text search, and Dedicated Read Nodes for up to 97% cost reduction. CEO Ash Ashutosh noted the updates serve more than 9,000 customers worldwide.
