Haystack MRD Test Enters Multi-Year City of Hope Cancer Research Program

Quest Diagnostics announced on April 16, 2026, that City of Hope will implement the Haystack MRD ctDNA test across 14 U.S. sites for approximately 500 patients. The program evaluates the test in breast, colorectal, ovarian, and prostate cancer trials to guide treatment and detect recurrence earlier than imaging. Haystack Oncology, a Quest subsidiary, developed the tumor-informed MRD assay, which received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in 2025 for Stage II colorectal cancer. City of Hope researchers will collect thousands of longitudinal measurements over multiple years.
