Google Launches Antigravity 2.0 Standalone Desktop App and CLI at I/O 2026

TechCrunch reporter Ivan Mehta reported Google unveiled Antigravity 2.0 at Google I/O 2026 on May 19 2026. The standalone desktop application and new Antigravity CLI replace older Gemini surfaces for agentic coding. Native voice command support and Antigravity SDK in preview were also introduced alongside the launch. Google Group Product Manager Dmitry Lyalin and Principal Engineer Taylor Mullen announced the transition of Gemini CLI to Antigravity CLI on May 19 2026. The update unifies tools into the Antigravity agent-first platform with shared backend for multi-agent workflows. Antigravity CLI is built in Go for faster execution and supports asynchronous background tasks plus Antigravity plugins.
